The Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE) was established in 1994 and it became an official association (under Dutch law) in 2004.
Pharmaceutical Care is the pharmacist's contribution to the care of individuals, in order to optimize medicines use and improve health outcomes.

The aim of the project was to contribute to the knowledge of practice of pharmaceutical care in community pharmacy setting in Denmark. The thesis focused on giving information on drug related problems, the training of pharmacists to deliver Pharmaceutical care pre- and postgraduate, activities of pharmaceutical care privided, barriers and facilitators for delivering pharmaceutical care and the charecteristics of pharmacies delivering pharmaceutical care.
