The Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE) was established in 1994 and it became an official association (under Dutch law) in 2004.
Pharmaceutical Care is the pharmacist's contribution to the care of individuals, in order to optimize medicines use and improve health outcomes.

We establish a pharmaceutical care programme for patients with asthma in Maltese community pharmacies. We also looked at the importance that pharmacists place on the delivery of pharmaceutical care in the community and surveyed the general population regarding their views of pharmacists and pharmacy services. This study was one of the original TOM studies.
