The Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE) was established in 1994 and it became an official association (under Dutch law) in 2004.
Pharmaceutical Care is the pharmacist's contribution to the care of individuals, in order to optimize medicines use and improve health outcomes.

The master’s thesis aimed to describe and compare the number, type and severity of drug-related problems (DRPs) found by pharmaconomists conducting a prescription review during their medicine management service and clinical pharmacists conducting a medication review as a part of a Clinical Pharmacist Service in a Danish hospital. Furthermore, to estimate the resource consumption per patient for the reviews conducted by the pharmacists and pharmaconomists, respectively.
